ABOUT BUENOS AIRES
GETTING AROUND TOWN
Use your Uber app as you would in any other country (it is customary at peak times to wait 10~15 minutes for your Uber to arrive).
Another options is to hail yellow & black taxis on the street (their front visor light will say “LIBRE” if they are available).

WEATHER
October in Buenos Aires is marked by the full arrival of spring, with daytime temperatures becoming warm and pleasant. Temperatures range from around 59°F to 77°F (15°C to 25°C) and sunset on October 11 will be at 7:06 pm.
CURRENCY
The local currency is the Peso Argentino ($). One US dollar is worth $1,200 (one thousand two hundred) Pesos approximately if you use your credit card. If using that latter and prompted to select “Pesos” or “Dollars”, always select the local currency (Pesos).
In Argentina there is a parallel market for dollar exchange, called “Dollar Blue”, however the spread today is so little that it is no longer worth the hassle of carrying cash. Credit cards (Visa and Master) are pretty much accepted everywhere, except in a few yellow & black cabs.

SAFETY TIPS
Although Buenos Aires is relatively safe, it is still recommended not to use cellphones and wear expensive watches and jewelry while on the street. If enjoying a coffee on a sidewalk café, avoid pulling your laptop or leaving your cellphone on the table, and try to keep your bag close to you.
